How can we make it easier for migrants to access vocational training in the skilled trades and better highlight and utilize their diverse talents? This core question was the focus of our two interactive workshops, "Making Migrant Potential Visible," which we held in June 2026.

During the "Call for Ideas", over 100 ideas from Münster for Münster were submitted within 4 weeks. We are absolutely thrilled!!!

Our Call for Ideas closed on May 10th – and we are genuinely impressed by the diversity, depth, and quality of the submitted proposals.

Open Innovation City (OIC) becomes Open Innovation Münster (OIM).

Our city is full of bright minds, bold initiatives, and dedicated doers.

The big day arrived on December 16, 2025: at the B-Side, we celebrated the official launch of Open Innovation City Münster together with representatives from local government, skilled trades, SMEs, universities, community initiatives, and all of you. We are especially thrilled by the response – it shows that Münster is ready for innovation!

Yesterday, we celebrated the official kick-off of Open Innovation City Münster at the B-Side – and what can we say: Münster is ready for innovation. 💡

Open Innovation City means innovation from Münster for Münster – by the people who shape and define the city every day: By you. By all of us!

Münster is starting a new chapter: Together with dedicated minds from business, administration, skilled trades, science, and civil society, we have laid the foundation to make Münster an Open Innovation City.

#MSHack25 has once again shown the potential Münster holds when people from diverse backgrounds come together to develop ideas for our city.
