Resource Pool for Münster

The "Resource Pool" makes Münster's idle resources visible and shareable. Spaces, tools, knowledge, and time are shared instead of left unused. Initiatives and citizens can find what they need—without the pressure to buy and based on a genuine sense of community.

The project started from the observation that a vast amount of resources sit unused in cupboards, basements, or attics. Often, these items are too good to throw away and yet perfectly suitable for lending or giving away.

To address this, a platform was developed that requires minimal personal data while making existing resources visible and accessible. The listing process is intentionally kept simple and can be completed from a mobile phone in about a minute.

The project aims to reduce waste, use resources more sustainably, and strengthen exchange within the local community. Sharing items locally also helps to reduce transport distances.

Fifty percent of the support for the project will go toward hosting costs to ensure the platform remains free to use in the long term. The remaining 50 percent will be invested in the further development of the platform.
