Companion app for the weekly market

The companion app for the Münster weekly market is designed to provide visitors with a clear overview of stalls, products, and current offers. At the same time, it gives vendors the opportunity to showcase their business, share promotions, and reach new customers. The long-term goal is to make the concept transferable to other cities and markets.

The project stems from the observation that weekly markets can be confusing and lack transparency for many visitors. Often, it is unclear in advance which stalls will be present, who offers which products, or what is currently available. Simultaneously, vendors lack a simple way to make their offerings visible and specifically target new customers.

The proposed solution is a digital companion app that displays all stalls, products, and current offers in a clear, real-time format. Vendors can manage their profiles, post promotions, and increase their visibility. Additional features such as search, favorites, and market maps are intended to make visiting the market easier, more efficient, and more appealing.

The idea strengthens the Münster weekly market as a vital social and economic hub. Visitors can find relevant offers more quickly, regional products gain visibility, and vendors can reach new customers more effectively. This helps make the market more modern, attractive, and competitive in the long run.

The funding is primarily intended for UX/UI design, testing, and the market launch. Planned activities include user research, prototyping, usability testing, and a pilot run at the Münster weekly market. Additionally, budget will be allocated for marketing, vendor onboarding, and legal advice. Since the technical development can be handled in-house initially, no additional budget is required for software development at this stage.
