Target of the call
With the Call for Ideas, Open Innovation City Münster promotes innovative project ideas from urban society. We are looking for ideas in the areas of:

‍Migrant potential
For example, remove barriers, facilitate job access, open networks, open up advice and funding opportunities

‍Green city
e.g. biodiversity, climate adaptation, urban agriculture, sustainable mobility and energy

‍Social innovations
‍e.g. common good, new forms of cohesion, integration and local support

Selected projects can include a Start-up financing of up to 5,000 euros (with a successful pitch and 1st place).

The project idea:
1. must serve the common good in Münster and must not pursue individual or particular interests.
2nd must be implemented in Münster and have a clear local connection.
3. must be designed to be non-discriminatory and are open to all people regardless of origin, gender, religion, disability, age, sexual identity or social status.
4th may not directly financially support individuals. Projects are eligible for funding — not individual living or personnel costs of individual applicants.
5th must have a clearly identifiable social added value and contribute to strengthening the culture of innovation.
6th must be realistically feasible and can be completed within a reasonable period of time.
7. can be submitted as an individual or group project.

Eligibility requirements
Minimum age 18 years.
Participation is open to citizens, initiatives, associations and informal groups related to Münster.
Submission is made within the officially announced deadline.
By submitting, participants agree to the selection and funding conditions.

selection process
The submitted ideas are reviewed by a group of experts based on transparent criteria, in particular:
- Focus on the common good
- Level of innovation societal relevance
- Feasibility
- Contribution to an open and diverse urban society

Citizens of Open Innovation City Münster make the pre-selection for funding in an online voting. The 3 ideas with the most votes in the categories “Migrant Potentials”, “Green City” and “Social Innovations” will be invited to the big pitch event (presentation of the project idea on stage). The winners will be determined there based on an audience and jury vote.
